Shiseido
When HOK stepped in to design Shiseido Americas’ New York City headquarters, a vertical campus located in Midtown Manhattan, the biggest challenge was creating a sense of visual cohesion. There are 11 brands represented across eight floors in the building, so each brand’s area had to be both distinct and look similar to its neighbors. To accomplish part of this goal, HOK turned to B+N Industries’ System 1224 for the makeup giant’s conference rooms. LED-illuminated shelving spans the walls, providing a place for merchandise and other office decoration to be brilliantly displayed. Behind the shelving, HOK specified custom 1224 panels with photography of Shiseido products or models wearing daring looks to provide further context and inspiration.
