Peeps, those gooey, colorful, bird-shaped treats, herald the annual return of springtime throughout the world, suddenly appearing on grocery and pharmacy shelves en masse come April.
They also had a year-round residency at the Oxon Hill, Maryland Peeps store (now closed). The first-of-its-kind shop beckoned customers in with a cheery yellow VW Beetle parked outside, an iconic Peep perched on top. Inside, candy-lovers were treated to merchandise and elaborate displays of Peeps, Mike And Ike jelly beans, and Hot Tamales cinnamon candies. These were all supported by B+N Industries’ Puck system. B+N supplied the shop with wall-mounted Puck displays, as well as free-standing merchandise bays equipped with the same system. With Puck installed, the store’s functionality was top-tier, allowing its intrinsically fun nature to shine through.
