Kauppakeskus Plaza
When it came time to update the shopping center Kauppakeskus Plaza in Salo, Finland, one of the main design goals was to create a memorable identity for the venue. The team at Design Agency Amerikka Oy identified the center’s atrium as the best place to do this, and got to work designing an undulating 32x139-foot wall. Originally, the wall was to be made of wood, but fire regulations prevented this. Instead, Amerikka interior designer Tomi Jokinen turned to Fortina for B+N. He was able to exactly replicate the wood original using Fortina louvers in a White Elm finish and a custom fastening system that secured the aluminum elements to the wall without sacrificing the nuances of his vision.

I'm extremely pleased with the end result. When you compare the wave wall and the 3D visualizations made at the beginning of the project, they're practically one to one.
